Schwenksville, PA (February 5, 2016) – A fun-filled weekend awaits visitors to Pennypacker Mills this spring! Families will enjoy the Easter Workshop for Kids, while everyone can find out how molded chocolatebecame so popular in the early 1900s.
The Easter Workshop for Kids on Saturday March 12, 2016 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm will give kids ages five and older a chance to express their creativity as they make colored eggs, a special Easter card, a blue bird house ornament, and more. During a refreshment break, kids can play Bowling for Bunnies. There is a $5.00 fee per child. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This program is by preregistration and prepayment only. On Sunday, March 13, 2016 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm see an Easter Chocolate Mold Demonstration, a fascinating program on how molded chocolates were made at the turn of the 20th century in metal forms. Join Suzanne Wainwright-Evans, a local expert in candy making, who will demonstrate how to make these sweet treats using her own antique metal molds. Handouts with instructions will be provided. Feel free to ask questions! This is an ongoing demonstration. The Pennypacker mansion will be open for guided tours during this time so plan to take a free tour too!
