The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders of Holy Cross Regional Catholic School performed the Christmas pageant this year on Wednesday, December 17. The show entitled “Carriers of the Light,” re-enacted the Christmas story, recalling the true meaning of the season. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade teachers organized the show and music teacher Mr. Regis Wagner lead the singing of carols.
The Advent theme at the school this year is “Shine Brightly the Path to Jesus” and the young children’s show ties beautifully with the theme. Each Monday the children gather for an advent prayer service. Every student wrote on a star about the way that they can brighten the path to Jesus, by serving others. Over-600 stars are posted in the windows of the school lobby, creating the candles of a 6 foot tall advent wreath.
To assist those in need, children brought in a toys to be donated to Catholic Social Services in Norristown, for which Holy Cross is a primary provider. Socks for the homeless were collected as well, decorating (more like blanketing) a tall Christmas tree in the school lobby.
