Ever wondered what it was like to shop in a general store one-hundred years ago? Visit the General Store in the barn of the 1900s History Center to find out. The friendly store owner will show guests all the wares he has for sale. Customers can even grab a basket and recipe card and buy ingredients for a recipe.
In the Children’s Garden guests will walk into a garden of many delights as they explore heirloom vegetables, smell and taste unusual herbs, and discover why flowers make great pollinator magnets for bees and butterflies. Guests can even guess the weight of one of the huge zucchinis.
Guests are encouraged to bring along a camera or cell phone to take an incredible photograph of their families wearing vintage clothing! The staff at Pennypacker Mills will dress everyone up in Victorian-style clothing and have them pose as they take pictures that can become a unique holiday card or a fun Facebook post!
Old-fashioned lawn games of croquet, ring toss, and Graces can be played in the shade of the Mansion lawn. Stop by the Car Show where the Delaware Valley Classic MG Car Club will be displaying vintage British cars for everyone to see and vote for their favorite. Meet the owners who have meticulously restored these automobiles. The winners will be announced at 2:00pm.
