“Seussical Jr.” is a colorful, energetic production that weaves together characters and plot lines from the beloved tales of Dr. Seuss. The show is narrated by the Cat in the Hat, who tells the story of Horton, an elephant who finds a speck of dust containing the tiny citizens of Whoville, including the child JoJo. In addition to protecting the Whos from danger, Horton must also guard an abandoned egg left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.

Some of the all-time favorite Seuss characters embark on a journey from the Jungle of Nool to Circus McGurkus, to the invisible world of the Whos. In the end, the powers of friendship and loyalty are challenged and Horton emerges triumphant, teaching the age-old lesson, “a person is a person, no matter how small.”

Approximately 75 Perkiomen Valley Middle School students are involved in the cast and crew of this production, which is directed by Courtney Boches.

Perkiomen Valley Middle School East is located at 98 Kagey Road in Collegeville.
