PERKIOMEN VALLEY STUDENT LOAN ASSOCIATION AWARDS OVER $80,000 TO PV GRADUATES IN 2015 COLLEGEVILLE

Perkiomen Valley Student Loan Association has awarded $81,600 in student loans and awards to Perkiomen Valley High School graduates this year.
The Association gave out 66 loans to graduates in 2015. In addition to granting loans, the Association also gives out the Cope Award annually. The $1,000 award, which is given in memory of the Association’s founding members Robert and Jane Cope, was granted this year to Andrew Bergman. Recipients must display academic achievement, personal integrity, and service to school and community.
Members of the association celebrated these accomplishments and others at the group’s annual dinner meeting held on June 3 at Piazza Presto in Limerick. Board members in attendance included: Jane Dahms, Trudy Miles, Debbie Dugan, Cheryl Holcombe, Hope Fioravanti, Kathy Newkirk, Lisa Laudenslager, Dave Smith, Janet Smith, Connie Fretz, Sue Pongras, Jennifer Ott, Phyllis Slotterback, and Pam Walsh.
The Perkiomen Valley Student Loan Association was started over 50 years ago by Robert and Jane Cope. The primary focus of the organization is to provide interest-free loans on the basis of need to Perkiomen Valley High school graduates who continue their education to any accredited institution of higher learning. Since 1954, the Association has given out more than $1.4 million to Perkiomen Valley graduates.
