Sen. Rafferty to Hold Free “Here to Help Job Fair” Sept. 13 in Pottstown

Senator John Rafferty (R-44) will hold his fourth annual “Here to Help Job Fair” for area residents from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.  The event will take place at the Sunnybrook Ballroom, located at 50 Sunnybrook Road in Pottstown.

Rafferty is hosting the job fair with support from the Tricounty Community Network (TCN).  The event is free and there is no requirement to sign up in advance to attend.

A wide variety of businesses, human service organizations and local colleges will be on hand to meet with job-seekers, take applications and resumes and offer tips on how to find employment.  Mobile Job Lab, sponsored by TriCounty Community Network (TCN), is an employment triage center that will be operating during Senator Rafferty’s Job Fair.  The Mobile Job Lab provides:  resume support, career coaching, job searching basics, LinkedIn profile creation, criminal record impacts on employment and much more.

“This annual event has been extremely successful in connecting job-seekers with businesses and organizations in our region that are looking for qualified employees,” Rafferty said.  “There is a wide range of participating employers covering most business sectors – including government, labor unions, finance, health care industry, retail, law enforcement – as well as great resource information on how to apply for employment.”

In addition, Pottstown Area Rapid Transit is offering their bus service via their High Street/Outlets bus line beginning at 9:30am and will stop at Sunnybrook after leaving PMMC at 9:44am, ending with the last pick-up at 1:44pm.

“I urge folks to stop by this job fair and find out what opportunities are available to them,” Rafferty said.  “It’s a great way to find out what jobs and training are available all in one spot.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resume, as no copying capabilities are available on site.
